Baltimore native and bassist Dave Hughes holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston’s Berklee College of Music with a major in composition, class of 1980. On returning home he joined the jazz fusion quintet, Cold Fusion, an ensemble that performed both original material and highbrow covers at regional festivals. Dave also made himself a fixture in the Baltimore area playing in a popular acoustic rock duo, as well as the classic rock band Flipside alongside drummer Bill Brasso. He remains an in-demand studio bassist, playing on countless mid-Atlantic artists’ projects. Always with an intense interest in prog rock, in 2009 he was invited to join Oblivion Sun, melding with longtime buddy Brasso and new compatriots Frank Wyatt and Stanley Whitaker. Dave is proud to have been asked to perform on this latest PGA recording and delighted to be among such talented company.
