I started building synth modules a couple decades ago as a hobby. I love soldering things together, especially if I can get a sound out of the finished product. For the past year or so as my health declines I have moved my creative interests back into this area. I have a modular desk I have been building for some time now that I, with my daughter's help, named "Tin Man". The Tin Man has finally grown to the point that I believe some compositions may soon be coming to life. It is a very different environment musically and each new module added has been a really fun learning experience. My buddy Andrew Colyer has been on the receiving end of my little experiments and we plan to work on something more structured and "intentional" sometime soon. In the meantime, I thought it would be at least somewhat entertaining to document my experiments with the Tin Man as I get started using the instrument. Below are the results of my very first attempts to coax something musical out of the dazzling array of voltages available to me. These are not intended to be songs....just little excursions into the mechanics of the instrument. They are free to download for subscribers.
